Durham Cathedral
This 60 x 40 cm piece was created by over 50 members of the public, through Durham University Creative Fuse project. The time-lapse video below is taken over 3 hours and shows the work evolving to completion. The final piece is on display at Discovering Durham in Prince Bishops Shopping Centre throughout June. If you are interested in doing a similar project for a work or community event please get in touch.

Colour is at the heart of what I do at Northern Sky Design. Glass is a wonderful medium to explore this and express creativity. It has a luminosity rarely achieved with other materials and it is my objective to develop my work for my customers, and with my clients, to make pieces of art that can enhance our environment and make us smile!
Landmarks
Little Pieces of Art
Transparent Light Swirl
Large swirl insprired by a woodland garden full of heathers and ferns. Colours include chartreuse, greens & deep pinks.
The Little Bird House
This is a representation the logo for The Little Bird House which was based at Wheelbirks, Northumberland. I was given a little drawing on a business card as a starting point and formed a mould, cast the glass then added graded colour.
Still Life Flower Studies
Exploring the art of Still Life. I created a series of studies of flowers in vases. Glass is such a lovely medium to reflect colour and being made from mainly transparent glass enables the light to shine through and luminate the piece.
Wildlife Studies
Northern Sky Design is based in Rowlands Gill where we are fortunate to have lots of unusual British wildlife including Red Kites. I have created a series of plates inspired by nature around us.
